IRI Brazil's National Facilitator attends COP 27 in Egypt and screens the film "Amazônia Viva" during the Conference

Carlos Vicente, National Facilitator, attended the 27th UN Climate Conference, COP 27, which took place in Egypt in November. A small IRI Brazil stand was set up in the space created by the Amazon Governors' Consortium. The Initiative's participation in COP 27 was entirely funded by donations, reaching up to five thousand dollars. 26 important Brazilian and international leaders and several other people from different nationalities watched the film.

Also at the COP, on November 17, the National Facilitator took part in the following panel: Scaling Regenerative Economy in Amazonia: How can sustainable economic development strengthen the forest, its people and the climate, organized byhe Future Economy Forum.

The resort of Sharm el-Sheihk in Egypt hosted the main climate meeting of 2022: the 27th session of the Conference, COP 27, organized by the United Nations (UN).The event, which has been held since 1995, brings together the leaders of practically all global countries. In recent years, the COPs have resulted in some of the most important agreements in history, such as the Paris Agreement at COP21 and the creation of the global carbon market at COP26.
