The film presents, through virtual reality, an immersive experience of the Tapajós River region.
On November 4, 2022, IRI Brazil held the official launch of the film during a special screening for 20 people at the Norwegian Embassy in Brasilia.
The event was attended by the National Facilitator, Carlos Vicente and team, as well as director and screenwriter Estêvão Ciavatta and director of photography Francisco Almendra. Among the personalities present were Odd Magne Ruud, Ambassador of Norway, Kristian Bengtson, Program Officer for Support to Indigenous Peoples at the Embassy, Regina Cavini, Senior Program Officer at UNEP and Federal Prosecutor, Felício Pontes and Marina Silva, elected federal deputy and former Minister of the Environment. Representing IRI Brazil's Advisory Board and partner organizations were Priest Marcus Barbosa Guimarães (CNBB), Pastor Romi Bencke (CONIC), Flávio Conrado (Religions for Peace Brazil) and Maria Irene Lopes dos Santos (REPAM).
Nine minutes long, "Amazônia Viva" is an immersive experience of the Tapajós River region, using 360º footage to unveil one of the most important places on the planet and bring it ever closer to people.
With funding from the Institute for Climate and Society (iCS), "Amazônia Viva" is one of the main tools that IRI Brazil uses in its programs to raise awareness, train and engage religious leaders and communities in the preservation of the Amazon and the defense of indigenous peoples.
