With Catholics, Jews, Protestants, Muslims, and other religions, churches unite to demand effective commitment to the preservation of the Amazon from all presidential candidates. In a letter sent to all politicians in the electoral process, religious entities and churches emphasize the need to halt deforestation. The document was signed by religious entities such as the Brazilian Evangelical Christian Alliance (ACEB), National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB), Brazilian Israelite Confederation (CONIB), National Council of Christian Churches of Brazil (CONIC), Religions for Peace Brazil, National Islamic Union (UNI), Brazilian Spiritist Federation (FEB), Nangetu Institute of Afro Tradition and Social Development, Interfaith Committee of the state of Pará, Interfaith Front Dom Paulo Evaristo Arns, among other socio-environmental entities in the country.
